I have been pretty busy at work, working 10+ hours days, so I have been feeling pretty drained when I get home. Not to mention, I had a visit I had to oversee last Friday at the park and eaten to death (LITERALLY!) by some weird bugs so I’ve been miserable. BrytonPick – Floss in Seconds
I’ve mentioned before in previous reviews about oral care products that I am not the best when it comes to keeping up with my mouth. I do brush at least twice daily unless I feel it is necessary to brush more, but I’ve never been a flosser which any dentist will tell you and me, that’s HORRIBLE; don’t get me wrong, I do floss just not as much as I should. With that being said, I thought trying out the BrytonPick would solve all my flossing issues and give me a reason to get into a regular habit of doing so.
The BrytonPick is a “string-free, portable and reusable dental space cleaner. The flexible edges are as thin as dental floss. Designed for use after every meal, BrytonPick brings relief to an everyday problem by easily removing food stuck between the teeth. Also, it replaces all improvised and un-hygienic “items” used in an attempt to remove pieces of food from between teeth, such as: paper clips, business cards, matches, or finger nails.” It is simple to use following the 3 step instructions that are included in the package, simply: 1. Keep the mouth open in a smiling position, 2. Gently insert either-end between teeth, and 3. Slide between teeth inside-out. Because the BrytonPick is not like normal string floss, it may take some time getting use to but after you get comfortoable with it, you are less likely to cut yourself tahn with traditional dental floss or toothpicks. It is also reusable up to 30 days and can be cleaned with a tissue, napkin, or hot water and should be placed into its carrying case after each use. BrytonPick is designed for use after every meal discreetly and requires no mirror or water. It is the perfect for teens and young adults, individuals with braces, adults on the go and seniors.
Now let me tell you know, I was VERY skeptical and somewhat afraid of this product when I first received it because of the STAINLESS STEEL edges that are used to clean inbetween your teeth. Who really thinks about or wants to put metal in their mouth, especially near very deliciate gum tissue. When I pulled the BrytonPick out of its pouch, I immediately noticed the extreme flexiability in the steel edges and thought that it wouldn’t be too bad. I tried out the BrytonPick a few times after meals and while it did work in getting the food that was stuck out or overall removing plague as regular floss would, I couldn’t stand the sensation of metal against teeth. On the other hand, Alan (boyfriend) absolutely LOVES the concept of BrytonPick and has been carrying his around with him ever since we got them. He has difficulty getting regular string floss between his front bottom teeth and everything he does manage to get it between them, the string either breaks or shreds. He had no difficult what so ever getting the thin, flexiable stainless steel blades of the BrytonPick through his teeth. He did manage to make his gums bleed a little the first time he used it, but like BrytonPick stated it takes some time getting comfortable with the angle the pick is used at. Overall, I would give the BrytonPick a thumbs down but Alan would give it a thumbs up.

Hard Candy Makeup
When I was younger, like Junior High age, I wore makeup all day everyday. I would make a point to get up early so I had enough time to “paint my face.” As I got older, I got away from wearing makeup daily, because a lot of products irritate my skin and cause it to break out, until recently when I got a new job in a more professional environment. While I still don’t wear a full face of makeup everyday, I do take the time to put on eye makeup and some kind of lip gloss or shine so when I got the chance to try out a few products from Hard Candy‘s makeup line, I was happy when I received items for the eyes and lips.
Hard Candy is a cosmetics line sold exclusively at Walmart and features products for face, nails, eyes, lips and body. The face collection includes blushes, bronzer, concealer, and primer. The eyes collection includes mascara that lengthens, volumizes, curls, and adds glitter, eye glitter, press on eyeshadow, baked eyeshadow duos, and eyeliners. The lip collection includes lipstick, lip gloss, lip shine and lip pencils. The body collection includes body crayons, body power and body glitter. The collection is very affordable, selling at an average price of $6.00.
I got to try out the Curl Up & Dye Mascara in Black, Mouthing Off Lip Shine in a light pink color, and a Kaleyedescope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in Break Up (green/white). The Curl Up & Dye Mascara definitely lived up to its curling name. I had never used a curling mascara and being that this mascara only retails for about $6, I was skeptical of its power but I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be using it any time I want to add some curl to my lashes. 
The mascara is NOT waterproof so I would not recommend wearing it to any event in which you anticipate water works. The Mouthing Off Lip Shine was very nice as well and provides a slight sparkling of color without being in your face. It does get a little sticky after wearing for awhile, so I would recommend wiping it off and reapplying. I really loved how it kept my lips moisturized which is a must for me as my lips are often dry. The Kaleyedescope Baked Eyeshadow Duo was my least favorite product of the 3 because the eyeshadow itself is not very pigmented or a least doesn’t seem to be. It took quite a few strokes with an eyeshadow applicator to get the right amount of color that I wanted on my eye lid. You can use the eyeshadow either wet or dry to create a more dramatic effect or a more soft effect! Overall, the quality of the Hard Candy products I tried was good and I would definitely buy more of the product line. You definitely can’t beat the price!
