When I was in grade school & high school, I remember hating having to write by hand for long periods of time because I would get a bump on my middle finger from how I hold my pencil and pens. That bump would become sore and soft and then after not writing for awhile would become hard and dry like a callous. Oh, I hated having to write by hand! However, I recently got the chance to try out a really cool product that is supposed to help with the discomfort of holding a pen while writing and make it comfortable to write. [CONTINUE READING…]
When I was growing up, I fondly remember my dad practicing on his guitar, writing lyrics to songs and singing covers of others. My brother and I would go watch him play in a band that he was apart of, and would sing along to the songs we knew. In my opinion, he does well for himself playing guitar and singing but I unfortunately did not inherent whatever music gene he was blessed with; my mom can’t keep a pitch for anything and my brother has tried playing guitar but never put much effort into it. Alan and I will be leaving, hopefully, no later than 4pm CST tomorrow – well I guess it is technically TODAY since it’s already past midnight! – to head to Charleston, SC to visit family for the week. I am super excited because it means that we’ll finally get to start some wedding planning and making some decisions. Blogging will be minimal during that time as I didn’t get a chance to schedule anything a head of time but please know that I will be back in full force come July 22nd with some get reviews and PICTURES!
In the mean time, I hope everyone has a great week!
Lately, it seems like everyone around me is either a) getting engaged or b) getting married! Within the last few weeks, I’ve had three friends on Facebook change their statuses to engaged and at least one friend get married. I am also in the stages of planning my own wedding so it is kind of neat to see what others are planning for themselves as I can take some ideas and turn them into my own. My friend, who got married last month, is actually a former supervisor at my former employer. She and her husband decided to go to Las Vegas to get married because they had both been married before and neither wanted a large wedding. It had never occurred to me that Las Vegas could be an option for a wedding because I have a specific vision in mind, however the subject did come up the other day when I was getting my hair done at the salon. On Saturday, Alan and I will be loading up the car and making the 18 hour drive to Charleston, SC to visit my family for a week. While we are in town, I have scheduled for us to visit multiple potential wedding venue options and also getting our engagement photos taken. Now, you may be asking why is she having a wedding in South Carolina when she lives in Kansas? Well, there is a good answer…I promise! [CONTINUE READING…]
So, it is no lie that I suffer from sweaty feet. They sweat in the spring, summer, fall and winter; it doesn’t matter what time of year or what the temperature is outside, they sweat. I can be wearing flip flops (which require NO socks, obviously!) and my feet still sweat. Or it can be the coldest of cold in the winter with me wearing socks and snow boots, and my feet will still sweat. It is ridiculous and absolutely disgusting because with the sweat comes the odor and the risk of developing some nasty infection like athlete’s foot, which I’ve had in the past when I was younger and it is NOT FUN. I’ve tried TONS of products to try and combat the sweat and odor to no avail, but then I got the chance to try out a new powder spray from Gold Bond, which has made all the difference.
