According to a research made by the Lebanese Economy Forum, 80% of the world’s population has a mobile phone. Out of the five billion mobile phones, 1.08 billion of that are smartphones. Based on the infographic published by Go-Gulf.com, the highest market share is Android with 46.9 % compared to iPhone with only 28.7%. Being a huge fan of video games, I admit that Android has some of the best game applications and most of them are free. That’s why I carry my smartphone with me all the time for a quick game fix either online or through Android. [CONTINUE READING...]
Bowling is a past time favorite hobby of mine and something that I participated in frequently with my dad, step-mom and brother. I haven’t been bowling in ages, but was literally talking to Alan about how we needed to go bowling sometime soon when I received information about AMF’s Summer Unplugged and Summer Pass programs, which run from May 13, 2013 through September 2, 2013. About a month ago, I was approached about becoming a Devo Diva which is a blogger who works with the Devo Olive Oil Co. featuring their amazing olive oils & vinegars in blog posts with original recipes. I was super excited to become apart of the Devo community because it would give me a reason to practice my cooking skills. I wasn’t really taught “how to cook” by anyone in my family and the dishes I cook today have been self taught and are based off dishes I ate when I was growing up. Sometimes, I like to experiment but I am not always sure where to start so having new cooking products to utilize gives me that extra push to jump outside of my box. [CONTINUE READING...]
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro. All opinions are 100% mine.
I am not big on gardening or anything having to do with plants and flowers. Maybe it is because I live in an apartment, so I don’t have the space to have a garden of my own and I don’t have to work in the yard because our apartment complex takes care of it. Perhaps, gardening and lawn care is something I’ll become interested in once I own a house or have a space where I can plant, but until then I’ll make due with some great projects from Miracle-Gro! My busy work schedule keeps me from enjoying dinner at home most nights, and sometimes I am too exhausted to cook anything. Alan isn’t much help either because he works the evening shift (2p-10p), so I am often left to scrounge around for something to eat. So, when I got the chance to try out Wholesome@Home Deli Fried Chicken from my local Kroger Co. family store, Dillons, I was very happy because it meant I didn’t have to cook and I didn’t have to waste a lot of time trying to figure out what to eat for dinner! Recently, I have taken a lot of time to reflect on the path life has led me down and where I am currently headed. In the last two months, I finished my second year of graduate school (1 more year to go!), got engaged to my boyfriend of six years, will be unemployed as of June 28th AND I made a HUGE personal decision…I made the choice to stop taking my birth control pills.
One of the main reasons I decided to do away with the pills after being on them for many, many years is because I will be without insurance once I am unemployed and cannot afford to pay for the prescription out of pocket. I suppose I could easily get them filled at the health care center on campus, but when I look at where my life is headed over the next year, there really isn’t any reason to continue with taking them. Next year, I will graduate with my Masters and I pray that I’ll land my dream job after completing my clinical practicum at the VA. I will be marrying my best friend in late summer/early fall, so it only seems natural that the next step after all those events is to start a family of our own. [CONTINUE READING...]
Did you know that June is National Iced Tea Month? As a Southerner, you might assume that I would know it is National Iced Tea Month, because you know all Southerners drink nothing but tea, y’all. But in all seriousness, I didn’t realize that tea had a month dedicated to it and the health benefits that you can gain from drinking it. I used to drink tea on a regular basis when I lived back home in South Carolina, but since moving to Kansas my tea consumption has definitely lessened; there are days when I miss having a nice iced sweet tea to drink, especially in the hot summer months. So, when I had the chance to try out some tea products from Red Rose Tea and Salada Tea, I gladly accepted because it would allow me to try out flavors I’ve never tried before and share with you my experience!
